Straordinaria la posizione panoramica sul Verbano centrale di queste due frazioni abitate già nel Medioevo (846). Vi si trova la casa natale del chirurgo Giovanni Battista Monteggia (1762-1815), celebrità del suo tempo.

These two localities, already inhabited in the Middle Ages (since 846), lay in an extraordinary panoramic position on central Lake Verbano (another name for Lake Maggiore). It is the birthplace of the surgeon Giovanni Battista Monteggia (1762-1815), a celebrity of his time.
